An opportunity.

Good Fortune Farm Ltd. was what I decided to name my farm in 2023 when attending the Abbotsford Farm and Country Market in July 2023.

The farm actually began in 2018 when I met a very kind person who had an opportunity to grow vegetables on a piece of vacant grass-land in the Matsqui area. This was exciting for me because I had been growing many plants in my backyard, so this was the next step for my passion. In 2019 I got seriously involved with establishing the farm. I was gradually acquiring more skills, more tools and establishing a basic infrastructure on a tight budget. I found success in selling my produce to whomever I could reach, with support from my family, co-workers and people on facebook. I like to grow a little-bit of everything, and even more if its something that people like. Through trial and error I discovered that on this soil, grows very nice watermelons, which many people are excited to try a locally grown watermelon. Over the next 3 summers I would harvest and sell watermelons to as many people I could reach. It was in 2023 when I took some advice to try out as a vender at a farmers market. The 1st year was new and challenging but everything worked out. The 2024 season we had more to offer and found out more about what we can grow and sell. I have many plans for the future and this year is looking to be an interesting one! Buy Canadian!
